Imerys Rio Capim Caulim S/A (IRCC) is a Brazilian company and part of Imerys Pigments for Paper, a business supplying high quality kaolin and carbonates to the global paper industry. The Imerys Group, is a leading provider of industrial minerals to a range of industries, operating in 47 countries across the world.
Imerys RCC has a plant and port installed in the city of Barcarena and its mine site is located in the city of Ipixuna, Northeast of Pará State.

The processing plant was erected in 1994, after decades of studies. The first shipment of kaolin to Europe took place two years after that. Since that time, there have been frequent investments made in the facility, not only to further increase production capacity, but also generate safer and more efficient production processes.

Efficiency is fundamental to the operation at Imerys RCC and this demonstrated by the way the Company combines cutting-edge technology with excellence, always adding value to its products and services without disregarding the environment.

The Imerys’ team usually has an excellent track record of success. In 1996, the first year of RCC kaolin shipment, the production was 47 thousand tons. Currently, the facility is  the largest kaolin production plant in the world serving the global paper industry.
